Safeguarding

At Fairlawn safeguarding our children is our number one priority. If children are not safe and happy they will not learn. We work with parents to make sure our children are safe at home and at school.

When we appoint new members of staff there is a rigorous process of checks to ensure they are the right people to work with our community. If we are not sure, we don’t appoint. If we do appoint, we never stop checking to see if each of our colleagues are doing the right thing by our children. We have a clear whistleblowing policy. All staff at our school are familiar with the policy and we always follow procedures if we suspect a member of staff isn’t doing the right thing by our children.

We have a very active pupil parliament and all our children know they are listened to if they are worried or upset about anything. We all know that we do not keep secrets in our school and we all listen to each other and support each other.

Please do read our safeguarding policy. If you have any further questions about safeguarding, please do come and speak to us. The safeguarding lead is Hania Ryans – headteacher and the deputy safeguarding lead is Emily Bruggy – SenCo.
