Welcome to Fairlawn Primary School
Fairlawn Primary School is a friendly community school in Forest Hill. Through our value of friendship, we encourage the children to be caring, show appreciation and develop trust. At Fairlawn, we are fully committed to standing up against all forms of racism and social injustice. We recognise that empathy is key. We model the importance of being considerate, reflective and understanding. At the heart of all this is our commitment to listening to one another and finding opportunities for every voice to be heard. We have a shared responsibility to give children the tools to make choices and to consider their role in an ever-changing world.
We support the following message from Pinaki Ghoshal, Lewisham’s Executive Director for Children and Young People and Angela Scattergood, Director of Education.
‘We believe that our schools and settings are key to tackling racism and other forms of discrimination. We will support all Lewisham schools and settings in their commitment to standing against racism and injustice, alongside and in solidarity with the local and global Black community.’
The Mayor of Lewisham, Damien Egan has published a statement on behalf of Lewisham Council in response to the killing of George Floyd in the United States. You can read the full statement here:

We are strong believers in schools working together to improve outcomes for children. We work in partnership with Haseltine Primary School. You can view Haseltine’s website here. The Fairlawn and Haseltine Federation lead a Teaching School Alliance. To find out more about this, view our Teaching School website here.
