Pupil Parliament – 2025/26

Pupil Parliament is a way of giving the children of Fairlawn a voice. There are 24 representatives drawn from the classes in KS1 and KS2. Each class votes for their own representatives.

This year, there are five teams – Diversity, Mental Health, Children’s Rights, Safeguarding and Play.

As a member of the Pupil Parliament, children take on an inspiring leadership role within the school community. They lead engaging assemblies on vital topics such as mental health, safeguarding, diversity, and the importance of play. Through these assemblies, they raise awareness and empower their fellow students to speak out about issues that matter most to them.

Pupil Parliament members are the voice of their peers, sharing ideas, concerns, and suggestions with the senior leadership team to help shape the future of the school. They play a key part in organizing exciting events and initiatives, bringing the student body together to make a positive impact on both the school and wider community.

Meeting most weeks, they engage in meaningful discussions about issues that affect their school life, encouraging collaboration and ensuring every student’s voice is heard. It’s a role of responsibility, influence and positive change!
