Rights Respecting School

Together young people and the school community learn about children’s rights, putting them into practice every day. The Award is not just about what children do but also, importantly, what adults do. In Rights Respecting Schools children’s rights are promoted and realised, adults and children work towards this goal together.

We are very proud to announce that we are now officially recognised as a Unicef UK ‘Silver Rights Aware School’. Well done to Mr Evans who led us through this process. Our aim is for gold by Summer 2023. Gerry McMurtrie from Unicef UK was particularly impressed by the confident and articulate children that he interviewed.

To celebrate World Children’s Day, the children in Pupil Parliament made this video to share with the community about the importance of learning about our rights.
